Now coming to the sessions linked with the hair transplant, one needs to know that a hair surgery distributes hair on scalp. Hair surgeries aren’t meant for everyone. At times two hair transplant sessions are needed to restore hair of patients. Crown or particle crown coverage is the first goal of first Fue session. If a crown restoration is attempted poorly, the chances of future Fue session are minimized and a chance of further surgery becomes more limited. The first Fue session is usually a standalone session for hair restoration.
After ten months or a year of first Fue, you can check if a second session is needed or not. It usually takes ten months to see and check the full results of first Fue session. At times there is a limitation to number of grafts transplanted in first session, so a second session is required. At times sub optimal growth of grafts may take place as decreased blood flow to scalp. Transplanting grafts in mega sessions has its own challenges and outcomes. It requires more surgical staff and patience plus more time too. Such hair transplants shall only be left to big surgical teams and doctors who have bigger staff. Very large Fue sessions require a big number of donor tissues. The ratio is 100 FU units needed per square cm of the donor tissue. And the hair surgeon must be able to get 100 FU grafts for every cm square of tissue harvested. The first and second Fue sessions have benefits and drawbacks.? A lot of technicalities are associated with first and second Fue sessions. As compared to strip incision, the growth rate of follicular transaction is more in Fue and grafts are more fragile and subject to trauma. At times due to scarring and distortion of donor scalp, further sessions are not possible for a patient. For example, if first Fue session has 2000 grafts, there would be 2000 mini scars. Second would have 2000 scars and 2000 grafts and in total would be 4000 mini scars.
